Dear diary,

Fury willing, I've taken the last gil I'll ever need from mother. She hilariously thought she might have a hand in this whole endeavor of mine. No such thing. A little impertinence seems to go a long way! The signs have already been commissioned and installed outside, the papers for the press signed, everything squared and set away. All in it's proper order. She came to see. Oh, Twelve, if only I could have captured the look on her face upon spotting the sign. No expression, but I saw it in her eyes. She turned heel that instant and went away, so I've decided to break out the good brandy. To celebrate! 'Tis my firm belief that father would be proud.I am now the happy owner and proprietor of 'Paget Publications'.Cheers, papa.

Diary dearest,

I apologize for not having written sooner. It may turn out that operating a business when one has more than a few well established competitors is not quite the best idea possible. I simply must commend the men of this business. They are of a ferocious breed that I've yet to encounter; but all challenges can yet be tamed, especially those braggarts who've not a lick of sense not to yap their disparities in front of fine ladies.Thirty-three Summers and I've yet to ever see myself out of Ishgard. Should I prevail in my efforts with the business, I think I shall use the coin to fulfill my wishes of seeing a world beyond. Never must I deal with her contrivances ever again. Bless dear Leona, but she spoiled any chance I had. I wonder how the adventurers must feel, with every onze of freedom they could ever have. Perhaps I'll have to write a book on it, should the chance ever arrive.

Hello Again,

Well, I suppose something truly amazing has happened. After all the troubles with my ex-fiance, a certain adventurer has gone and convinced me to abandon life in Ishgard and pursue more fruitful means of life. I'll still be running Paget Publications, certainly, but now... Well. I shan't tell you the name too soon.Madame Shydayle certainly knows how to convince a lady. I wonder if it was her plan all along to draw me into this life. But, bah, I could scribble romantic wonderings in my journal all day if I let myself. The Nocturne Gazette is my next venture; an investigative journal and chronicle of journeys both, hopefully for readers who simply want the thrill of it and those who aim to take to the trail themselves. Here's to new beginnings. Just wish me luck, papa.

Defiance & Daring

Nadia Vermeille has earned herself a small reputation as an individualistic sort. A problem, according to most. After a certain point, you're just trying to prove them all wrong. Whether or not her stubborness is her greatest blessing or greatest failing is yet to be discovered, but determinatinon really does wonders for a good payout anyways. What's it all worth when she's stuck in Ishgard, anyways? Has there not ever been adventurers from Coerthas? Of course there have been! And must every adventurer be assigned to the task of slaying beasts and ne'er-do-wells? Bah! Just the stuff of fairytales. Perhaps, an endeavor can simply be a catalogue of stories. For what, if not the world, is the inspiration of the novel? For where would authors not learn what makes an act of courage, a feat of strength, a show of loyalty, a stroke of romance? And where might they learn that flighty sensation of freedom? Every ilm of this start might contain a story! But, until the opportunity rears its head, Nadia's happy to people-watch and gather up her inspirations, oft found needling the odd traveler with questions about their journeys. It'll have to do. For now.

Whisperings

Paget Publications

The publishing business is a surprisingly fierce one. And, in an established field composed most entirely of men, Nadia's adamant competitiveness has become a well known factor of doing business with her. Or, rather, losing business to her. Obviously, many might claim that it's hardly her place to enter the field, but... Can they really stop her? Nevertheless; sometimes dirty business dealings come about with the opposition. A source of some drama, amidst certain circles.Drama aside, however, she's wont to enable her own authorship through the business. Save for providing editions for bookstores and Ishgard's Scholasticate, a few novels - perhaps with a romantic trend to them - appear under the name 'Nadia Paget'. Mysteries, too!

The Nocturne Gazette

Nadia's most recent business venture takes the form of The Nocturne Gazette, an investigative journal that fully embraces her pesky, nosy nature. Of course, that can certainly get one into trouble, but the journal is already known for smears and exposés aplenty. She's certainly gotten to work, whether it be ex-admirals out of Limsa Lominsa committing petty crimes over pendants, or the dirty dealings of nobles all the way back home. The pen is not only the world of whimsy for little miss Vermeille now, but also the scourge of many a secret. Here's hoping her sister doesn't get too mad...

Business Runs in the Family

Thank you for reading about my gal here! I am a 21+ roleplayer who much prefers my writing partners to be the same. Queer to boot. I'm most interested in critical world-building and smart characterization. I love 'snowballing' with ideas rather than trying to plot out anything excessively elaborate, but I'm obviously not opposed to hashing out ideas if we seem to click. While I'm a fan of Gothic themes, Nadia trends toward a more hopeful outlook, with a particular interest in chronicling the exploits of heroics and the such. That being said, just see if the shoe fits! Get this poor woman out of Ishgard for a bit. For within, however, I'm a huge fan of political intrigue, though Nadia doesn't have any particular standing to be involved in this as much - unless one needs an unfamiliar face, perhaps. The sole piece of art displayed on the carrd was commissioned by Killjo_q.I am in Mountain Standard Time.
